The Russian missiles are unique. They can only be used in areas of dense civilian population.

It's a bit strange that an MP wears a military jacket. Interesting though - he seemed legit.

I have actually approached this from a different angle, but have come to the same conclusion. Why the military jacket?
My natural instinct is to not pay attention to what Russians say, but pay attention to what they do.
Everything is for a reason. Wearing a military jacket would have been a conscious decision, unless he habitually wears one. Was it a sign of solidarity with the Russian military?
Then again, it is conceivable that it was some weird form of propaganda. Maskirovka. I should have said, 'exercise caution' when viewing anything from Russia. I know you already knew that.
If Mexico had invaded the US four weeks ago, no Mexican soldier would still be on US soil. Because the US is a military superpower.
If Vietnam had invaded China four weeks ago, no Vietnamese soldier would still be on Chinese soil. Because China is a military superpower.

Yes. Could have been a visible reminder to their population that even their safe MPs are on a war footing because of the evil West.

That sounds eminently plausible. I have always considered Russian state propaganda worth watching, however crass it is. It provides a glimpse into the thoughts inside the
Kremlin, which we wouldn't otherwise see. Obviously keep your antennae out at all times, if you'll pardon the expression.

This is propaganda without mercy - the Russian state is said to be organising fake groups of soldiers' mothers and soldiers' widows, in an attempt to purportedly advocate on behalf of soldiers. This is a counter measure against real groups of soldiers' mothers and soldiers' widows who are organising, lobbying against Russian officers and bringing criminal prosecutions.
It is from 09:15 onwards, but for the historical context of the danger of returning conscripts (from the Russian-Afghan war), watch from 6:00 onwards.

A real example of 'malicious actors' that are happy to take money (if that's the carrot) to undermine fellow women.
Also in the video, a reminder that Putin cares far more about advancing in the Donbas than in protecting his beloved provinces of Kursk and Belgorod. Maybe Ukraine can now move some of it's better troops back to Donbas, and replace them with less experienced for their defense lines in Kursk.
Finally a reminder from the contributor that Russia will still outlast Ukraine in terms of troop numbers, in the grinding front line. Ukraine's invasion of Kursk has been a part game changer but there will need to be much more to protect Ukrainian troop numbers:
- air defense
- unlimited drone supply
- faster shell delivery
- a freeing up of the restrictions (from the US and Germany mainly?) of firing missiles deeper into Russian territory to disable air bases used for attacks on Ukraine (one example).
