From the BBC website, I hope this is a joke - Steve Bruce England manager ?

You're having a laugh I think

Birmingham have blossomed under boss Bruce Birmingham co-owner David Sullivan has predicted that manager Steve Bruce will eventually take charge of either Manchester United or England.
Bruce is believed to be close to signing a new deal with Birmingham.

But Sullivan said: "I think that one day Steve Bruce will lead Manchester United or England - if he continues as he is performing now.

"I hope he wouldn't leave us for Newcastle but it wouldn't surprise me if he becomes the next England boss."

Sullivan added: "He's proving with us that he gets the best out of players. So why not?"

"If people get an opportunity like that, then we're all pals and adults and they go with our best wishes."

Since Bruce took them into the top flight Birmingham have finished 13th and 10th.

It was reported last week that Bruce had signed a new deal with the Midlands club.

However, it was later revealed that he was in talks with the club and that it was hoped that a deal would be finalised shortly.

Meanwhile, Birmingham midfielder Robbie Savage has made a rapid recovery after a back operation and will be able to report back with the rest of the squad for pre-season training on Thursday.

"The surgeon who did the operation said he couldn't believe how quickly I have healed and I've got the go-ahead to report back with the rest of the lads."

Way out west
I'd rather go for Robert the Bruce and he is both dead and Scottish.

Great to see Steve Bruce back in football manager getting the gig at L1 Blackpool, the football family was certainly a poorer place without him.
