Does that mean 19 in 20 didn’t get fleeced?Just thinking aloud, the hit rate of posters in this thread getting tickets must be something like 1 in 20 or so.
Who the heck was able to buy the reported 1.4 million tickets to these shows?

I was called “sad” on here by another poster when i announced I’d be using the £700 I “saved” by not buying an England semi final ticket, using it for my weekend in Newcastle, including curry.
Likewise, on Wembley gig night I’m gonna stick on both Stone Roses CDs and use to money I saved to buy cheap lager and curry, lots of curry.

If you're spending all the money you've saved by not going to one of the Wembley gigs on curry, either you're being ripped off as well or your toilet's going to look like Passchendaele the next morning.

I know I live in a fantasy world but I really struggle with tickets to arenas and stadiums being more expensive in the first place.
Surely having more people though the door means that you can charge a little less for the show. Especially given that (and I concede that it may be my personal opinion here) the quality of the product is so much less.
My preferred venue in Melbounre is the forum (holds 2000 odd) tickets are currently around $100 a show (what I paid for Ride? Which is far more than it was five years ago. Mostly I won't bother to pay more to see less at a stadium/arena - The Cure, ACDC and next year The Prodigy are the exceptions.

These guys are pretty good, spend the money you save on enough booze* to make you forget they aren't the real deal and enjoy what will probably be a superior upfront and personal experience.

Interesting point. Stadium gig tickets used to be cheaper, a lot cheaper. I have seen The Rolling Stones a number of times over the past few decades and the stadium gigs were always relatively cheap. I had a decent pitch seat 10 rows from the front in Hamburg in 2007 and think it was about 100 euros. Fast forward and these seats are now over a grand and part of a fancy package.

I'd assume that if Bruce Springsteen can afford to play Wembley with a MASSIVE band, and still presumably do okay out of it while charging much lower prices, then that's probably in the region of 'fair'. Bands and promoters wouldn't be cancelling gigs as that would mean they'd make no money at all. They'd just be trousering lower profits.
