I got in this morning after getting in the queue from 9, was 8500 and spent an hour painfully hoping my shit signal on the train up to the Emirates wouldn't kick me out the queue.

Got through, no more standing but seating tickets still available at normal price (£120), it offered me certain seats, I added 3 of them and got errors 2 times before the third lot of seats offered actually added to my basket and it then errored one final time when I was about to pay saying I had reserved too many tickets despite only have 3 in my basket and put me back in the queue at 32000.

In summary, f*** ticketmaster.

It doesn't. You'll notice they rolled out that appeasement statement without qualifying how it would work. For the last few Iron Maiden tours the cardholder who purchased the tickets needed to be present to gain entry and show ID.

I suppose I should have gone for the ballot tickets yesterday as today was a dead loss - but really didn't want to pay high prices (a lot lower than now but still excessive in my view) for poor seats. Ah well. Saw them back in the day and have been to a couple of Liam Gallagher concerts in recent years which weren't hugely different. Of the three big concerts I saw this summer (The Killers and Bruce Springsteen being the others) his show was the most formulaic so I don't feel it's the end of the world to miss out.

That said, hope those that got tickets have a fantastic time.

Oasis kept ticket prices almost weirdly cheap for years. At least two tours were £30ish - I remember because I was (even more) skint at that time in my sorry traipse through life and could actually afford it.

It's a bit depressing to think about whether/how anyone on a low wage does big gigs now. The Americanisation of prices shouldn't be normalised.

Can’t see how they can police this when Ticketmaster were ramping up their prices in the first place - how can they know how much the original buyer actually paid ?!

I don't mind their music, but don't rate it as the best I have heard.
Too much aggro, not worth it.

I wonder whether (hope that) Ticketmaster has overstepped the mark this time with its dubious pricing practices and unjustifiable fees. Yeh, yeh, supply and demand and all that but just because a minority of people can afford a ludicrous price for something doesn’t make it right.

We’re used to dynamic pricing with flights, hotels etc Can be annoying but it carries some consumer benefits as it means they’re frequently underpriced and bargains can be had. With event tickets, the initial price is just about rooted in reality - not cheap - and rapidly spirals to touting levels. Profiteering. Maybe the fuss will be big enough this time for legislation that sets fair parameters for increases.

I actually think Oasis are treating their fans with contempt, milking them for every last penny.

Ticketmaster just provide the platform and the method of fleecing fans. They are the gun shop.

But the pricing is 100% down to the promoters and the artists. They have chosen to do dynamic pricing. The Gallagher brothers pull the trigger on prices. This tour was only ever about the money. They can’t stand each other.

Hats off to Oasis if they have managed to convince fans the prices are down to Ticketmaster. It means that their adoring hoards will roll with it and they’ll earn a lot of money plus keep their reputation with their die hards intact.

I think the dynamic pricing thing is an option turned on by default that artists can opt out of.

There's a Dimension20 live show at Madison Square Garden next year and they opted out of it after being told by fans Ticketmaster was gouging them for every penny.

Which of course means that Oasis have just decided not to opt out and allow rampant price gouging to occur rather than opting in and allowing rampant price gouging to occur.

Either way, it's a terrible look for what was once a working class band from Manchester.
