Original fans will struggle. The tickets are being snapped up by tech nerd millennials who run thousands of searches a second to get tickets and then sell them onto resell sites.
Original fans - unless they're looking to enjoy a shared experience with their kids - will hopefully not be that fussed, having heard the albums get progressively worse and having seen the band get progressively staffed by more and more session musicians

They haven’t had that big a turnover of members have they? 3 drummers (standard) then Gem Archer and Andy Bell from Heavy Stereo (who I did see live before they got the Oasis call).

There is a special place in hell for the people that run Ticketmaster
Yeah, awful company.

Part of Live Nation I think. Live Nation who own a bunch of venues and then only sell tickets via Ticketmaster and their god awful dynamic pricing system.

A far cry from dropping in to Resident and grabbing paper tickets from them.

I’m racking my memory as to how we bought tickets for the 96 Knebworth shows.

I mean, that’s when they were at their absolute peak of popularity, but I really don’t recall any major struggle to get tickets. I guess we just phoned up somewhere and bought them. Job done.

Baffling how it’s now become harder to secure gig tickets than it is to secure world peace.

The only way they can really do it is if the seller lists the exact seat number for instance, or identifying information such as the name of the ticket holder or serial number on the ticket. Generally they’re largely powerless (and uninterested) to stop it. It’s empty threats short of the low hanging fruit

In this day and age why the hell they can’t do some kind of facial recognition at point of sale and entering the arena I have no idea. Too many people taking a slice of the action. It’s criminal and absolutely disgusting.

Is this 'resale' or this dynamic pricing?

Either way its complete bollox, but even more so if they ramp up the prices for the original sale?

My son made it to the front of the queue after 4hrs and the cheapest tickets were £400 plus. It was a no for him
That is completely out of order, can't believe that's allowed, or that people would pay it, which they seemingly have, albeit not your son.

Dynamic pricing, is this common price these days from official sellers? Really sharp practice.

Presumably the band sanctions this, they select the promoter.

It was the same for Taylor swift , ended up paying £638 each ticket to sit in the heavens and the money had to get convert to Canadian dollars as was a Canadian seller who transferred the tickets over in ticket master , had an empty seat next to us all night and 4 seats behind were empty and yet there were genuine fans that couldn’t get tickets . What the heck is a Canadian buying tickets for Wembley . Of course to make loads of money . This should be banned in this day and age and sites like viagogo and StubHub should be banned

Ticketmaster/LiveNation and AXS/AEG, yes.

Promoters offer bands long-term tour deals they can’t refuse, and sign away the rights to veto prices.

Government needs to regulate against this practice, it needs to be stopped. Pure greed, nothing else.

As for bands , they are part of the problem. They aren’t respecting their fan base.

Imagine if Albion started doing this for high demand games. If they did I wouldn’t attend matches anymore
