Glenn Murray just said he thought Veltman knew what he was doing and the ref shouldn’t have booked Rice as he only knocked the ball a couple of yards.

It was on Final Score for reference.

Pretty sure the results of this poll would / will be markedly different if / when a proper vid of the incident becomes available

Yes I heard this, it doesn't matter whether he kicked it yards or miles he kick it away. Who side it Glenn on!
His Uncle Ben will be stewing over this for sometime.

Second yellow = red.

There is no debate, kicking the ball away, ungentlemanly conduct.

Lego head is right though, Pedro should have been booked for kicking the ball away as well.

What I love about Veltman is the image of angelic innocence and naivety he projects, meanwhile being one of the shithousiest players in the league. Tugging the shirt on the blind side, “accidentally” standing on toes.

Spend a half watching him, it’s constant and he never stops.

Then he’ll turn around and shake the player’s hand
They both absolutely knew what they were doing. All part of the modern gamesmanship. Ricn tried to slow the game down and stop the play by kicking the ball away, Veltz tried to boot the ball against Rice, not knowing that Rice would be stupid enough to kick it away. Yes it was a yellow card per the rules and they have been stamping down ontime wasting for a couple of seasons now, is there a higher criteria for a 'second yellow' ? No.

Vetlz v HaHa last season was a battle of epic proportions.

Best £900 grand Tony ever spent.

Watched the highlights and the Ref appears to be apologising after he sent him off, along the lines that’s the new rules there is nothing I can do about

If I was ref. I would say. The ball was moving. Retake the free kick from where the original foul was.

Ref did get it right though by the letter of the law
