[Albion] Team versus Arsenal (A)

Same team as United except start the peerless Adingra in the form of his life, and bring Minteh on against tiring players

Right, I am DONE with moaning about Crawley and letting the O'Riley situation upset me so looking forward, what is your team for Arsenal?

Steele

Estupinan/Ferdi - assume Estupinan will be preferred until Ferdi has had a chance to integrate
JPvH
Dunk
Veltman

Gilmour
Milner - assume Weiffer is still injured and Baleba is out having played 90 m last night

Mitoma
Joao Pedro
Minteh - would prefer Adingra but assume he is out having played 90 m last night.

Welbeck

Subs: Enciso, Adingra, Hinshelwood, Ferguson, Webster, Rutter, Ferdi, Verbruggen, Baleba

Hoping now that we have a dedicated LB our defending will start looking a bit less haphazard.
I'd keep Veltman on the right, and Mitoma on the left, so:

Verbruggen

Veltman (with cameo 10 minutes for Ferdi)
Van Hecke
Dunk
Hinshelwood (with a pre-planned substitution to give Pervis 20 minutes to start getting up to speed)

WBG
Baleba

Minteh (or Adingra)
Pedro
Mitoma

Welbeck

Verbruggen
Veltman
Van Hecke
Dunk
Kadioglu
Baleba
Wieffer
Minteh
Enciso
Mitoma
Joao Pedro

A bit harsh on Welbeck, but I think Pedro's movement against the Arsenal centrebacks will cause them all sorts of problems and Enciso will find room for some long-range howitzers if he stays central and waits for service from the wings. Kadioglu is top class, he should be straight in the side and will play Saka brilliantly. No Steele in goal so we have a chance of a clean sheet and the steadiness of Veltman at right back and the engine and destructive power of Baleba in the midfield alongside Wieffer (if fit) or Gilmour (if not).

I’ve just got a feeling that Wieffer won’t make it.

Perhaps we’re ready for Hürzeler’s back 3?

Is it too early for the RIP thread?

Might be a bit early to be writing Wieffer off after one match.

I don’t think we will see Ferdi in the starting XI on Saturday. “Too soon” or “needs to integrate”.
I’ll be surprised if there are any major changes to the last two games.

I hope there are and I’d like to see Bart in, Baleba in With Pervis, Ritter and Ferdi all getting some minutes.
