I wonder how their fans feel now that Ipswich is owned by an American VC group and an American pension fund.

Gamechanger 20 Ltd took over the club in April 2021 with funds from the Arizona state pension fund. Bright Path Sports Partners, a US-based private equity firm, bought 44% in March 2024.

That banner always makes me laugh. The confusing incorrect grammar, the strange message behind it, and the fact it came from a club we had no prior issue with :ROFLMAO: You can even see the front rows of their fans turning round to read it & obviously being equally confused. Were they having a pop at us for building a new stadium? Given our history and lack of a permanent home ground its such an odd thing to make issue with. Were we meant to stay homeless forever?

Exactly. Initially because of the poor grammar no one could understand it. Where they saying "Well done!" to us for getting from near-oblivion to a lovely new ground? Or were they having a snide dig because the stadium name was sponsored?

Eventually I think we decided they were having a dig - although we couldn't understand why as it seemed a stupid thing to get worked up about, and also we'd had no previous history with them. Anyway, the boot is definitely on the other foot now. They're yet another club being used as an American vanity project and/or cash cow; sort of like Wrexham but without the Hollywood romance.

Oh silly me. I thought it was Tony Bloom who paid for the majority of the stadium build. Now I feel enlightened that it was paid for by an American Credit Card Company without letting anyone else know. At least that banner brought out the truth.

Jeez, puts us right up there with the Head Choppers in terms of crimes against humanity.
