It’s fairly common for the NW clubs to do it for London games. Quicker and easier. They normally get a whole carriage with security on it

I hope Neal Maupay sticks around in the Premier League, don't see too much of a point to keep the competition around without him.
A cirkus needs a clown. Every park needs a dog chasing the ball.
Furthermore, from a strictly footballing perspective, they should be licking his boots. In all but one of his PL seasons he's been able to grab a bag of goals for a bottom five-six predicted team and helped them to stay up. He's certainly no goal machines but he finds them out of nowhere.
If he was starting alongside Lewin-Calvert, I'm sure they would have created a lot of goals together through hard work and cleverness. Right now Everton are playing five in midfield while having no desire to keep the ball, pretty pointless.
Main reason they need him is his defensive qualities though. DCL doesn't have the body type that can apply pressure on ball holding defenders over and over, but Maupay has that quality. With Maupay biting your heels, you can't stand and measure passes like Van Hecke and Dunk could against Everton. Then you have to go long/random more often and thats about the only kind of balls this very poor Everton defense can deal with.

Most of the time (for northern clubs) those coaches are used to ferry them from Gatwick to their hotel, and then to the ground and then back to Gatwick.

Really hope Everton go down.
Their fans have become a bit of an embarrassment. Not withstanding the eye watering amounts the players are paid this no way to talk to anyone. Utterly pathetic from grown-ups but at least it’s not rioting.

Anyhoo, would like to see Maupay playing regularly for someone again - always liked him.

Footballers are massively overpaid and, as a result, the game is far too expensive to follow. Jealously breeds anger at perceived lack of effort. It’s not getting fixed any time soon.

I understand the narrative but I don't accept it.
"I pay your wages, so I own you, and expect to be entertained".
A small minority of nobbers think like this, and it's not a million miles away from the bloated entitlement that had a small minority of nobbers out 'rioting' recently.
Do they actually think the players are taking the money, pissing about and laughing in the fans' faces?
They can all f*** off as far as I'm concerned.
They also aren’t really providing the money that funds the wages. The vast majority of the money comes from TV.
Also if Everton are paying £80k a week and Spurs £100k then Spurs should win anyway.

But, sure, let’s focus in on the tiny little flame of an “entitled gnome nobber” and not the massive forest fire of unsustainable player wages.
He didn’t say “I pay your wages”. He said “f***ing 80 grand a week”. And so did I.
He knows what you said perfectly well. He’s angry about the perceived reward to effort ratio.
And it is perceived. For every one of those guys there were thousands of Everton fans heading home after a day on the piss knowing not much will change until they get a fit right back and Branthwaute back.
Unsustainable player wages is of course an issue.
But I was commenting explicitly about the entitled gnobber waving his tiny fist and abusing players for, er, losing a match.
That can't in any way be conflated with unsustainable player wages. One is not an explanation for the other.
Then why is the only clear complaint on the video “f**king 80 grand a week”?
I included that under the umbrella of abusing the players.
I'm sure you don't mean to, but you are giving the impression that it is justifiable for supporters to abuse players in this way because the players are paid too much.

The club is toxic right now. They have had a terrible window, and Sean Dyche has a job on his hands to keep them up. However - once again - it looks like the 3 that have come up are weak, and could all go straight back down once again. However, they all have that feelgood promotion "bounce"which Everton don't have, so one of them might get a foothold - certainly Ipswich have better attacking players than Everton.

Which does beg the question why such extravagant coaches for relatively short trips?
Fans all over Europe do this, from Italian ultras turning up at training to that French cappo last season lecturing the players on the pitch (which is far worse for morale). Remember Wolves at the Amex abusing their players, throwing a shirt back? I'm pretty sure if those players were still on £20 a week there probably wouldn't be such scenes.
Like I said, I'm explaining it, not excusing it.
I’ve always had a bit of an irrational dislike for Everton fans, I don’t think it helped with the Benetiz/Rodrigues season when they beat us and thought they were genuine title contenders with their unsustainable spending which they are now paying for ..
