[Albion] Transferring Season Tickets

When I first became a member a few years ago to buy away tickets when I moved to Sheffield, I was put on the "wait list".

I was able to buy a season ticket the following season. Now maybe demand has skyrocketed in the last couple of years (genuinely, we've been playing well, I can see it might have grown), but I'm more than slightly dubious about the idea that there are really thousands of people kicking their heels waiting to get a season ticket.
There is a 267-post thread here from NSC from a handful of months ago detailing the process Albion went through, with various windows, for people who wanted to purchase a season ticket. Those season tickets are now sold out (for the moment at least). It isn't being pedantic to point out that Albion have a season ticket waiting list - it is a statement of fact.

Good for those Liverpool fans. That’s how you build fan loyalty across the generations
Couldn't disagree more. If a season ticket holder passes away, it should be offered to the person who has been on the waiting list the longest. If the family member was such a great fan they would have their season ticket already.

I don't deny that it's a statement of fact, but this post from that thread does tend to suggest that the reality is that not many people are left waiting for that long.
I got an e-mail today, and I've only been to one league match (plus one Europa League match) all season, so there can't be many categories left.

Indeed.

Season ticket waiting list grows; season ticket buying window opens; season ticket waiting list reduces. Ad infinitum (well, until we get relegated, anyway).

Isn't the seat ownership in the 1901 clubs only?

I've never bought mine in the 10+ years of being a STH.
Might be the case nowadays, but when we attended the presentation to select our ST seats before the Amex opened, the club wheeled out some Aussie corkscrew-permed super-salesman to try and convince us of the dubious benefits of seat ownership. If memory serves, the offer was open to all, and taken up by nobody anybody knew. The club's initial sales pack also included a mock-up screenshot of a thriving marketplace for people wanting to trade seat ownership as if they were some sort of commodity. Wonder whatever happened to that idea 😄

It's also how you get a real problem with nobody being able to go to away matches.

I don't think Liverpool have any problems with cross-generational support. I'm pretty sure they've knocked the "still using your Grandad's ticket" thing on the head, anyway.
Nope. how many times does it have to be said on here that many of the aways that people don’t want to go always go down to general sale. You know how I know this? I went from basic ST loyalty points to Tier One in the space of just over 4 months by doing this - it’s a total myth there is a closed shop

That's great mate.

But we were talking about Liverpool, remember?

For clubs with massive waiting lists then yes but anyone who wants a Brighton one can get a+ one year, go to a game a get one at the beginning of the next season, or wait until the half season tickets come out.

They apparently sell out but the window to people with no points is very big so you don’t even need to be fast on the internet finger.

Presumably you already had a lot of STH points already though, its fairly easy if you have maximum 200 points to start with, very difficult if you are only in your first couple of years as a STH
