I’d no more buy food at the Amex than I’d go to the Ivy to watch a football match.

At 1130 in the SW, no pies left in either kiosk... well there were plenty of vegan pies that nobody wanted,... only sausage rolls...Just getting in early so people don’t think this is result driven.
Today is going to be CARNAGE. Brand new team who haven’t been trained. No one pouring beer. And burgers the size of a pound coin.

Admittedly it does look strange - but it was a flat brioche type roll
The only thing we should all do is protest by not buying it. I'm hoping they get Uncle Sams in the new fan zone but til then my partner and I have decided not to buy and food or drink at the Amex. It will be the pub beforehand or food smuggled in, which alot of people do in WSU. God knows what you spend if you have kids with you on match day.
Last time I ate food at football was the chicken pies at Withedean.

Some people have the need to buy food for various reasons. If the club sell food then it should at least be edible.

I didn't see outside walking up from the station. I bought one in the West Upper and was charged £2 for it.
Surely the chips! Ohh the chips… almost makes me miss the Withdean
What need? What precludes buying a pie or sandwich, or whatever, and eating it on the train or the park-and-ride bus before you go in, and buying another one on the way home? If you're using the park-and-ride you can have a whole hamper waiting for you in the car when you get back to it. You can have a bar of chocolate or two to keep you going during the match.
I would say that the food at the ground does at least need to be edible; it also needs to be not outrageously priced. If it doesn't meet those criteria, don't buy it...........................

Cold day. You’re watching your team lose across an athletics track and signs for pensioners tennis classes but the chicken pie. Low quality ingredients, hot grey gravy, tin dish.

I just want some tap water. They’ve finally put water fountains at the back of the east stand lower, but no plastic cups. I need to awkwardly skip the queue and ask for a single empty plastic cup or queue up for one.
I either do this dance every match day or don’t drink anything for 7 hours (commute is 2 hours each way) as we can’t bring our own bottles in. I usually get headaches.
The football is brilliant mind you.

Is it still with Sodexo? Believe 1901 bad today. I only had a cup of tea in Dicks, which sounds like the place to go if you take with milk.

yeah, okay. You live in your world mate … Glad you’re pleased with your arrangements. But quite simply you don’t feel the need to want/need to buy food at the ground whereas others do, and quite frankly if you're not buying at the ground it’s really got nothing to worry you if other find the offering poor.

Obviously in the minority but I thought food was good today. Breakfast pie was best I've had for some time and the cheese burger was enjoyed by my daughter. All really hot too.
Ah, I see you changed definition to to want/need - but there's a big difference between 'want' and 'need'. I accept some people might want to eat when they go to a football match. If they choose to pay over the odds for crappy food, that's their choice. I didn't say anything against them doing that (other than if they don't like the product don't buy it).
Now try making a case for need, which was the point of my post.
You can bring in a small plastic water bottle without a lid (500ml) I always take a water bottle for the short journey in and take off the lid before I go through the turnstile
