Fook me, what a superb start to the weekend.

I was very sad about Barco going but this has cheered me up a lot. Now all we need is to hand Man Utd a good thumping tomorrow, with Ferdi introduced at halftime to the Amex, and life will be freakin' perfect. At least for a few days.

I'll settle for us beating Utd and then introducing Ferdi, who takes to the mic to lead the crowd with the diti to Utd 'you've seen the Albion, now f**k off home'.

this is empty legs means the plane would normally fly back empty after dropping someone off and this is the airline we used for rutter, so you would be looking at 11k for a flight

That's not too bad really. I was expecting a lot more.

Albeit not exactly good for the carbon footprint  . Just don't let Just Stop Oil know otherwise they might glue themselves to the wheels.

(Edit: sorry, not sure why I quoted you in the end ... it was more directed at the person you quoted!)

Twitter is no different from other possible sources. It's just an online reflection of how gossip and rumour mills have always worked. Don't judge the validity of a rumour based on "where" it has been presented. Base it on "who" has presented it and whether or not the content of the rumour "passes the smell test".

Twitter has its fair share of dodgy rumour mongers who make shit up. So does every other platform, including your local pub. Twitter also has its fair share of sources who have connections and regularly provide rumours that have legs. As does every other platform, including your local pub.

I'd personally place Romano in the latter group. He has connections. He hears things. He gets fed stuff deliberately in order to help make things happen. Does he always get things right? Nope, he doesn't. Is he a bit of a bellend? Yup, he is. Does he lack the ability to apply some critical thinking as to whether he should/should not post something he's heard / been asked to post? I reckon he might. But does that make him a source we should always ignore? No, it doesn't. Because whether we like it or not, he *is* connected. What we need to do as consumers of rumours is to apply our own critical thinking to what he provides us. Are there signs that he's being "used" by an agent / club (eg Caicedo)? Are there other corroborating sources? Does the rumour fit with other information we already know?

Keep in mind: rumours exist because deals take time to happen. A rumour that gets posted today could be fully accurate, and yet still never happen because something changes tomorrow. IMO Romano tends to share rumours at a much earlier phase of discussions that others; he does it because he's looking to get the scoop, but he also faces a much higher risk of the rumour not panning out.
You’re wasting your time. I had EXACTLY the same conv with him(?) a week ago, and I doubt I’m the first. You can try as hard as you might to speak sense, he won’t listen. In his tiny, limited little world, if he doesn’t hear it from the club it’s always, all made up nonsense. 🤦🏻‍♂️

…..and yet he spends all his time monitoring the rumour threads to spread his doom and gloom! 🤦🏻‍♂️

I smell (a very jealous) Palace supporter! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Oh, and he has a thing for men in women’s underwear!

Nah, let 'em. I'm sure the jet could still take off with them glued to the wheels, with the cost being their lives and a slightly larger carbon footprint.

But those here we go tweets are following some pretty categorical done deal posts from other sources.
Oh yeah, but my point it that he rarely goes in with them until he's as certain as he can be.
If P&O claimed to be "pretty watertight barring major last minute u-turns" I'd look at getting a different ferry.
Romano claims nothing of the sort, I'm saying, but you are right, however, given ferry's DO sink occasionally, doesn't that reinforce my point that the exception usually proves the rule? P&O won't stop sending ferries because a ferry sank.
