But ... it can be made usable. #1 ... don't use the "For you" section at all unless you've taken some time to understand how it is built. #2 keep your Following list tightly controlled to the specific people you know you want to see content from "always". #3 for everything else, make use of the Lists feature (eg I've got a Formula 1 list that I go look at periodically, for example, but I don't want that content in my main feed all the time, especially as some of them are US-based and tweet out on NASCAR etc as well). #4 If and when you see anything you don't like (eg ads outside your interest area, anything cesspit-worthy that surfaces in "For you"), mute / block the account.

If you're reasonably careful about what content you consume on the platform, the "For you" algorithm can be trained to give you the content you're interested. I dip into mine from time to time, as it's surfaced a couple of newer F1-related account for me to add to my list.

I'd also add that if you save the search:

#bhafc -#cfc -#iptv -#cpfc

You rid yourself of a butt-load of Chelsea and Palace dullards. If there are other teams that push your buttons, just -# and it takes everything out that includes that hashtag.

Been a game changer for me
