So it appears that you can only take an account size bag in to the amex. In reality what does that mean? Is a boot bag a4 sized? What kind of bag is allowed in?

I use one of the carrier bags from the stadium shop. (Any carrier bag should be ok, i think,) They can see the contents,as its clear plastic, and they won't turn you way with something that is usual stuffed full of money making tat from the shop. The shop now sells, for £1, one of those tote style carrier bags like JD sport do. I've push the boat out this season and invested in one as it seems more sturdy.
My thinking is, if they are ever dicks about it, i can carry the stuff between the boys and myself and fold the bag and put it in my pocket. I normally take 2 kids (my own, not just randoms) so, in the bag we have scarves, hats in case the sun is bright, some snacks etc. Or in winter gloves, warmer tops etc. I have never had any hassle with this home or away while i've done this.

I think there’s a bag storage area by the South Stand.

An A4 size bag can hold approx 236 bottle tops, which before they started the attached ones on bottles, could be sold for ten bob a lid to butter fingered people who wanted to retain their drinks.
That was more than enough to cover a ten minute shuffle through the shop and a twenty minute queue on the concourses....or, it would pay for a bottle of oxygen for those who use the steps to the upper west.

Thankfully I'm just a WKP (with earbuds), so have no need for luggage at the Amex. Looks a right arseache.
I used it at the friendly match as I rode down and needed to store my motorbike crash helmet and it was £7 which I thought was a bit expensive, but then parking for motorbikes is free, so from that perspective it is still cheaper then parking the car at the Amex parks and a doddle to get away after the match. Really wish I lived closer as I would use the bike on match days more often.

Unless it has changed, all proceeds go to AITC or whatever it is called now so think of it as a charity donation rather than a charge
yes I knew it had gone up because I used it for the previous seasons friendly and it was £5 and it was now £7ish so as you say £7.50 seemed very steep to me at the time but as I was getting to park for free I was not overly annoyed, but if I was paying for parking and charged £7.50 I would have been a bit miffed, but then I could always go back to the car and leave it there. So I guess it only affects people that have arrive by public transport and have no choice, which sucks.
It's tricky on a 1200 mile round trip in a day for a home match. e.g. looking at the weather tomorrow all / any coats need to be with you, phone charger etc - shoes will be soaked mooching around killing time in the morning...and everything for the day in your pockets....
Bit difficult if you come from work in London for an evening match with your laptop etc. I'm not going home and then trying to get to the stadium in time.
Had to do this before these stupid rules. Really .... how much of a threat is there really from a laptop rucksack and how many football stadiums have been bombed ? Strange you can go to the club shop before the game and buy bags of stuff and be let in with said bags. Pathetic rule. Barber Out !
Threat is one issue, holding up a queue of people trying to get in whilst someone has their colossal picnic checked is another……….

I’ve never had a problem bringing an ordinary carrier bag in with a few items - I usually have two phone chargers plus scarf, gloves etc as required. They have a quick look in the bag before you enter the ground
