I agree, pride ... Fall ... And all that, however, logic dictates that I must stick with 3-0. (It is no coincidence that I am also the sort of person that assumes england will win the world cup after one slightly higher than mediocre win against a tiny nation).
I believe the most powerful tool of statistics is reversion to mean. The mean performance in the premier league is very strongly correlated with wages. As we have a lower wage structure all other things being equal (which I accept with TB & PB they may not be) we will sink to our wage level. If this is true then it is likely that if I am realistic I will be sad both before and after the game. If sum of total happiness is your aim,which for me it is, then the only logical thing to do is ignore reality. By doing this, I am happy before the game and sad after it, and therefore my total happiness is higher than the realist.
(And if I am wrong I'm happy before and after ... Assuming entitlement does not kick in, but that would never happen as a Brighton fan ....)
