Assume also with rotating player names as well. Maybe you need a DIY solution using velcro.Can you get rotating number replica shirts in the club shop?

Interesting. Mitoma and Sarmiento are listed as midfield players but Adingra and Minteh are strikers.

I see Chelsea are changing numbers AFTER they've been used...
"Pedro Neto will switch from the number 19 he wore against Manchester City to the number seven for the remainder of this campaign.
"It will not be until the end of August when the transfer window shuts that the full list of Chelsea squad numbers are finalised - and they will remain subject to change until that point.
"Any supporters who had purchased a current Chelsea shirt with Pedro Neto 19 on the back from the official Chelsea megastore or online store, will be eligible for an exchange until September 30. Proof of purchase will be required before any exchange is issued."

As mentioned, Man Utd did this last season too. Garnacho switched from 49 to 17 after the first game and Hojlund moved from 17 to 11 (although I don't think he ever wore 17). The squad numbers aren't considered final until the 25 man squad is submitted to the PL.
Chelsea have kind of used it as a punishment to Sterling to put his nose out of joint. They've also taken 14 from Chalobah in an attempt to force him out of the club as well, and given it to previous loan-flop Joao Felix. Who they bought so that Atletico would have the money to buy Gallagher, who they needed to get out of the club as he's pure profit. Even by Chelsea standards, their behaviour in this window is grotesque.

Bit unfair on anyone with a copy of his old shirt. Personally I would tell players to keep their squad number until they leave. It doesn’t make them play any better.
It is a small thing, but it just might - if a 'better' number, makes them feel properly valued - something that just might be an issue with Simon Adingra in light of him not kicking off the season in the starting XI.
