Ask for Kevin at Weatherills at the Grenadier, it's his business. He co-owned Elliotts for a number of years before heading out on his own.
He knows his stuff and knows the area, but is after all an estate agent......
He's like a throw back to the estate agents of the 1980s!

Whenever I rang him he would ask me to hold and then have a very loud conversation with someone on the other line about an offer on the property that I was interested in! He was then quite rude to me when I wouldn't increase my offer to what he thought the property was worth.

Simon Goldin at Goldin Lemke excellent.
Mark Cox at Cox and Co lives up to his name. Full of Cocky false matinées and doesn't listen. He undervalued my house 2 years back and tried to sell to a developer he had on his books for £620,000.
Coxy won't be happy with that, a regular 1901er !

Went to school with Goldin, decent enough chap.

My area ! Lol . Unfortunately all the agents I know in Hove none of them specialise in hangelton .

They are good at getting high prices for properties in central Hove , Hove Park etc but don’t really tend to bother with some of the other areas like hangelton , woodingdean , Saltdean etc unless it’s given to them . I guess all down to what earns them the most in commission and what’s easier to sell etc
You do surprise me

I'm not too happy with it either. He made it worse by sending an email saying as much that we were greedy fools to not take his advice. He deleted it within minutes but I saved a copy.
Plastic through and through.

When seeking agents for property valuations, especially near Blatchington Mill and Holmes Ave, it's best to look for local experts who have a strong track record in probate cases :)

A friend of mine has gone out on his own after years working for the big firms in Hove.

Has very competitive rates and very knowledgeable of the area.

Ask for Michael

Looking at website amazed especially for a new agent that no details of owners or staff. People like to know about staff and owners

I cant understand why anyone uses an EA they are all as useless as one another literally do fvck all for a nice fat percentage of your hard earned investment - why no t do it yourself there is nothing stopping you placing an ad in all the main sales outlets.

Living on the other side of the world and with a time difference of anything between 9 & 11 hours it would prove challenging in the least to orchestrate any viewings and negotiations that might ultimately lead to a sale would you not agree ?

Interesting, what are these “main sales outlets” you talk of?

I once managed a similar situation with a house in Birmingham and found that reaching out to specialists who know the area well was key.

Dean &co are good.
Simon Goldin at Goldin Lemke excellent.
Mark Cox at Cox and Co lives up to his name. Full of Cocky false matinées and doesn't listen. He undervalued my house 2 years back and tried to sell to a developer he had on his books for £620,000. Goldin Lemke subsequently sold the house within 2 weeks for £75,000 more.
Hi Knocky1, Several people have sent me a link to this conversation, and I must say I am concerned. I would never risk my reputation or try to rip someone off. Could you please give me a call so we can sort this out? My phone number is xxxxx xxx xxx.

Remember my trustworthy help on your sister's Beach Hut purchase, later named by NSC, when you sift through my comments on Cox & Co.

A good estate agent will work hard and deliver the best outcome for their clients. I know my industry has a bad reputation, but I can assure you that not all agents are the same.

Your invaluable critique of Coxy has already been well noted, cheers Knocky.
I would welcome a conversation about this. I have contacted knocky1, as several clients have sent me this conversation thread. I can assure you I wouldn't risk my reputation and try and rip someone off. I was a co-owner of Mishon Mackay from 2003 - 2019 and worked alongside the late Glenn Mishon.

Mod edit: I have removed the rest of this as I don't think it is a sensible thing to have this sort of discussion/argument on a public forum - and this was a thread from last year anyway - please use private messages.
