We certainly seem to be going for it this year, I wonder where it’ll take us……?

Ha, creepy Beaky waffled on about Palace going to the next level without any context. Our incomings are exactly that. Not so much as a marquee signing but a targeted rebuild on a significantly higher stage. They've luckily still the 'star of the show' Dougie who has an uncanny eye for spotting Championship player of the season contenders.

These are genuinely exciting times.

Did someone with an Italian accent tell Tony he thought we had a ceiling?

What we’ve actually done is find a nice opportunity in all the PSR shenanigans when the traditional big spuffers have already blown their load and have spent very wisely.

I believe we’ve rolled our January 25’ Summer 25’ and January 26’ window spending into this one. Don’t believe me? How about this front line in two or three years time after selling £300m+ of top talent:

——————-—O’Mahony————————-
Osman—-———Gruda————Cozier-Duberry
———————-Yalcouye—————————-

The scale of our spending is phenomenal. I hoped we would bring in a few but never dreamed it would be this many.

The pessamist in me is worried we now have too many players 😂
Lots of loans and sales to come.

I suspect Celtic are quite keen on a few of our players whom could easily smash the MTL (Lamptey, Igor, Gilmour, Dahoud, Moder, Sima). That might be why the O’Riley deal is taking so long.

Good to see but out of interest, where do we stand with home grown players? Steele, Welbeck, Hinshelwood, Dunk, March, Webster, Milner, Ferguson, Lamptey. Currently Gilmour but that's looking less likely. I believe we need to name 8 HGPs in the 25 but youngsters don't need to be included in that 25!
Hinshelwood and Ferguson are still too young to be named in the 25-man squad this season.

We don't HAVE to name at least 8 HGPs in the 25-man squad. Rather, we can name a maximum of 17 non-HGPs in the squad (so if we wanted to name 25 players we would need to include at least 8 HGPs). We have rarely (if ever) actually named as many as 25 players in the squad.

Of players added this summer, only Wieffer and Rutter would need to be named (and are non-HGPs).

This window has made me feel like a kid on Christmas Day - unbelievable and totally unexpected.
With this squad I genuinely believe we can get to a cup final this season if the draw is kind to us - and hopefully a trophy and another European adventure as a result !

I wonder if Kieran McKenna really did turn us down and we actually told him about what was gonna happen this window.

If both are yes, the bloke is an idiot.

Ed Sheeran who you would think is in the know pretty much confirmed McKenna nearly left in the summer during an interview for sky sports on Saturday.

There was those random articles middle of last season that said Bloom was planning to spend big this summer.. just put it down to twitter nonsense at the time.
This!

Alongside the above and the internal goal setting for the next 3-5 years which I heard from PB and TB I was expecting a big summer.

However I’m still surprised we’re doing it at this level.

I firmly believe that we are striking while other clubs simply can’t.

Our sales in recent years and financial stability given the timing could be the most amazing masterstroke from Lizard and PBOBE.

In summary. I believed it when I saw it.

I thought we'd spend big but nothing like this. Our squad feels huge now with so much quality. The squad value must be around 500 Million now...absolutely mental

I think we approached McKenna and got a green light.

Manchester United and Chelsea then had a sniff. I suspect he got back to us and told us that he was reviewing all options. At that point, we’d have pulled the chain on his future here. Meanwhile, both Manure and Chelsea wiped their arses with him and he was flushed back to Ipswich as they changed tact.

I think he’ll take Ipswich back to the Championship and he may well find that unlike Kompany, his ship has sailed on a Big Job for the time being.

It’s also worth noting that Joao Pedro is also a home grown player and in the future Facundo and Julio Enciso should both qualify as HGPs (should they still be with us at that stage of their careers).

No.

I knew the woefully inadequate and slow CM needed a big revamp, as it did summer 23 and January 24. Hoped that it would, but my instinct was that TB would keep playing the long game, “the process”, a series of statistical punts for down the line.

Anyone on nsc in March/April pleading for a big spend on midfield, were generally pilloried.

Probably more a case of his ego couldn't take coming to Brighton when he had heard man u and Chelsea were interested.

Biggest mistake he has ever made I suspect.

Was thinking exactly this earlier today. Inevitable there'll be some big sales in the coming transfer windows, its how the machine keeps going, but the signings we've made mean we're very well set up to absorb the hit of losing an important player or two. In the 25/26 season, as if from nowhere, we'll be able to field all these players than have quietly been developing on loans, in our youth team, or on the outskirts of our current first team. Osman, Buonanotte, ACD, Yalcouye, O'Mahony, Gruda, Rushworth, Beadle, Barco, Ayari, etc etc....

The dull part of the south coast
It's absolutely f***ing mental.

It goes against everything we thought we knew about how this football club operates.

I have absolute faith that the club knows what they're doing, and then some.

It feels as if the club is not settling for being just any old established mid-table Premier League club. We are taking the model of signing young talent and selling them for profit, and injecting steroids into it. Our football team could well be worth a billion quid by now.

It's quite clear that TB and PB are trying to make us into a big, I mean actually big, club. The transfers, the PR, the marketing, the business model.

I can see us qualifying for Europe again. And possibly again, and again, and again.

We have a world class chairman, absolutely world class. Our football club is so well run, and apparently so ambitious, that it's f***ing insane.

The journey is going to be absolutely wild.
I do wish you wouldn’t sound so miserable and subdued about it.
