If Gruda is coming in, then it's Gruda, Enciso, Sarmiento, Ayari and eventually Gomez fighting for the more attacking of the midfield roles.

Surely means Sarmiento and/or Ayari due for another loan?
Enciso, Sarmiento and Gruda yes but I don't see either Ayari and Gomez as those attacking midfielders. Both more like 6/8's rather than 10's like the other three.

3 out of these 7 should be on the pitch at any one time - Mitoma, Adringa, Minteh, Pedro, March, Enciso, Gruda*. I predict that we are getting a LOT of pens this season!!
I predict a LOT of outraged threads about penalties we didn’t get at top six clubs

I think Gruda, Enciso and Sarmiento could all play in the 4 attacking positions in Hürzeler’s fluid 4-2-3-1. But if we see the 3-4-2-1 formation from St Pauli with the CB/DCM then all three could be a centre midfielder. Either way, they’ll all be options for 4 spots in the team. Keep all 3 I say, especially with Enciso’s dodgy fitness record.

Ayari may go on loan in January if Gomez arrives and is considered a better option IMHO.

We seem to be stacking up so many attackers that I’d be surprised to see March back any time soon and would suspect we’ll cash in on Mitoma.

A counter argument to that would be that RDZ didn't find anything "extra" in him he just played him in his "proper" position. And the difference in performance showed why he should never have been played at wing back.

I think there was a debate about March's effectiveness as a wing back under Potter. I can remember conversations on here about whether he could tackle, whether he gave away too many free kicks. For me the debate is always, do you want someone who can "do a job" at wing back or someone who's a specialist.
This. I’ve no idea how anyone who’s watched all/most of March’s games at BHA thinks his best position is anywhere other than RW.

That may change post-injury, considering our options and his potential loss of pace, but he’s never been anything more than a serviceable wing back, particularly going forward from LWB where he’s very one dimensional.

It’s a terrible confession but I’ve almost forgotten about Solly in the flurry of new signings. Who knows how he’ll fare after his injury?

Before he got injured in the lockdown season, Southgate was rumoured to be looking at him as a LWB option for England. Doesn't say a lot considering England's options, but he's better than servicable wherever he plays. I'd agree that he's been best at RW under RDZ, but Minteh looks even better. If Solly's back to full fitness, he can be a very vauable player in a number of different positions.

Out of all our wide players March is worst attacker but best at tracking back and defending. Way our managers play maybe defensive qualities are not important but know who i would want when we are under pressure protecting a lead.

Yeah his best ever form was right wing. Some of us are saying that with options we've got now and potential affects of his injury he could be a really good option at full/wing back.
