Hi all , albion fan who has been living in Aberdeen last 10 years, now back in Sussex and going to my first away game with my son against Everton August 17th (first away game since league 1 days), just wondering what current albion away game etiquette is regarding seats, do most people still sit wherever they want first come first serve for away games, or now in the premier league do most people sit in their allocated ticketed seats?

Come on. That's a bit harsh. Fair question I thought.

(You should have seen me at Underhill 20 years ago where stewards insisted on using assigned seats and someone was in mine. Cue musical chairs without the music)

As if you can actually sit in the seats at Goodison 😁I can only imagine when they put those seats in,they were designed by Kenyan long distance runners or umpalumpas.
It must be just me but I love the seats at Goodison. Those blue, wooden clattery fold-down seats that could be 100 years old. Certainly they’re identical to the old blue seats in the old Wembley that were installed in the 1920s.

I find there’s a disappointing philistinism when (I’m guessing) younger football fans comment on other, older grounds. I totally get that the Amex is a very comfortable place to watch football and has great views from every stand. But it has no ghosts. Goodson has ghosts, as do many old uncomfortable grounds. Maybe I wouldn’t want to sit every other week in those old seats at Everton or Sheffield Wednesday or Old Trafford or the City Ground. But I love to visit them once a year or once a decade as an away fan.

And there we have it folks.
The 'I can't get a ticket for a game yet I've supported the Albion for ten years' theory knocked on the head.
People used to say that when we were at Withdean. It was bollocks then, and it is bollocks now.

What people usually mean is “I haven’t been for 7 years and I can’t get a ticket to watch us play Man Utd”.
