See also Skegness, Scarborough, Bognor…

And so on and so on and so on.

Deprived areas, unhappy locals.

Opportunists elsewhere, looking to cause sh1t.

Bristol, Southport, Weymouth, Tamworth.

Bognor has previously seen riots in 2021, Skegness and Scarborough are both targeted locations in the 10k member Telegram groups;

This is all shocking and appalling. Until yesterday I’d never heard of this App called Telegram. Or Terrorgram as the security services call it.

At what point do we as a country just close down these social media platforms for the good of law abiding citizens?

Sky News "the Championship football season begins on Saturday, there will be many football fans criss-crossing the county, and as we know, many football supporters align themselves with the far right, which Police Chiefs see as a potential issue'.
Will they be baying for their clubs to send all their foreign players home?

See I’m not sure about this, or the Greens who are apparently joining the counter-protest using the terrible situation to hand out branded “no to racism” leaflets. It just seems antagonistic in what is already a very tense situation
I know what you mean.

I know some here are heading to counter-protest, very much in peace and with good intentions - and this is mirrored across the country - but I do wonder if it makes the policing effort more difficult.

Watching Plymouth’s aggro the other night, also Bolton, it makes it doubly hard.

What? You’re not sure that calling people out for attacking innocent people who are running businesses that protect those looking to legally settle here is helpful? I think it’s fine.

If these communities are disenfranchised then try getting behind a government that wants to invest in communities rather than robbing the O2 store, Lush or other local shops.

Stay in doors should be the order of the day. You’ve got to be pretty stupid if you think counter protesting is just what’s needed right now after last few days events. Instead, give the police a clear line of fire at these morons so nobody innocent gets wacked. Which might happen if two sides go to war.

I don’t think now is the time to make political capital, no.

Letting fascists take over the streets never works out well anywhere in the history of the world - they will just grow in strength. Remember the lessons of Cable Street, they have to be stopped

Starmer is deluded if he thinks harsh sentences will deter rioters imo. How do you identify people not arrested when they are wearing hoodies and scarves?
As I said in a post up thread; Hoodies, scarfs, glasses even balaclavas doesn’t stop people being ID’d on facial recognition software which operates through CCTVs used by police (and private businesses). If they are anywhere on a police database for any previous conviction, they will be caught if involved in the riots (and you can almost guarantee the ringleaders will have some previous contact with the police in these communities.
