being anti-immigration is right wing - it just is, that's a definition. having a protest against immigration, descending quickly into violence against police or other targets is extreme or "far" from the middle ground of politics. if you want to stop the label far right being attributed to those concerned about immigration, call out against the mob that turn it violent.
I don’t think I quite agree with that. Isn’t traditional socialism generally against immigration because of the dangers of workers losing jobs etc. I don’t think it is as clear cut as right vs left. Not to say those rioting are not right wing, they are. I am just saying that some jezza lefties I know are very concerned about immigration.

"Lucy Connolly, from Northampton, wrote: “Mass deportation now, set fire to all the f****** hotels full of the b******* for all I care... If that makes me racist, so be it.”

“The childminder has since apologised, and said she had acted on “false and malicious” information.”

So it would have been okay if the information was true?
This will be interesting because they are charging working class protestors in these riots will they do the same for the upper middle class to the same level.

Time will tell on Southport and Gillingham won’t it, my guess is the establishment and media will coalesce around mental illness, but as I have referenced I don’t trust them to be truthful with motives. Intuitively speaking, the attack on the soldier in Gillingham does not feel like the act of a random violence by a loon but a targeted attack. Similarly Southport, an act of violence so awful that it’s effect would cause the maximum fallout with the public, as it has done. In both cases the perpetrators travelled to the places they committed their acts of violence, that does not indicate mental psychosis, quite the opposite.

Mental illness is now a convenient mechanism for distraction, the case in Nottingham of the individual stabbing and running his victims over did nothing to resolve that position, if anything it’s exacerbated the levels of distrust. That individual should be in prison. Similarly Huw used it as a means to explain his degeneracy, the public can see through it he deception.

Let’s be clear the issue of immigration is complicated, and there are aspects of it which are positive and negative. Unfortunately we do not have politicians that are honest enough to accept there are negatives. For the establishment the narrative is that there are only unbridled positives. This is not reconciling with the lived experience of the public, and politicians and institutions that ignore that position are responsible for building the up pressure in those areas which are most pent up about how factors connected to “immigration” is affecting their lives.

For example, the housing of illegal in migrants in hotels is madness, and toxic, one near me had protests when announced, not just about the illegals, but about all the staff being laid off as the home office supply contractors. No one cared about them, and they were working class of all hues.

Starmer has lumped anyone and everyone that has concerns about immigration into the far right bucket, that’s simply not true.

The government you claim do not accept the negatives of immigration are the same government that has persuaded you to refer to asylum seekers as 'illegals'. They are also the same government that have chosen to close routes to the UK for refugees and force people to claim asylum, they are also the same government that have chosen to all but halt the applications of asylum seekers and make them stay in hotels and other centres.

In short your government for the previous 15 has not only been aware of the negaetives of immigration, they have created some more. They have done this because it had proven to be a vote winner

If you voted for them for their immigration policies, or if you voted for Brexit as a solution to immigration problems you have been properly mugged off! Part of me thinks that no wonder these half wits are so f***ing angry, they have been made absolute fools of.

As for Starmer, well time will tell if he and his party have the answers to the immigration problem caused by previous governments, or to address the 'legitimate concerns' (still not sure what these are - something about the titanic and a lack of betting shops I think).

I think he has got bigger problems to deal with right now though.

For what it is worth the whole 'lumping everyone and anyone into the far right bucket' has been conclusively debunked on this thread already.

Interesting you say that. I read a book written by Fraser Nelson a few years back, called 'The Strange Death of Europe' I think, about mass migration into the EU. Quite striking was the quotes from his immigration minister, think it might have been Barbara Roache, Irish perhaps, about using mass migration as a weapon against the Conservatives, to give Labour a permanent majority. Certainly a grain of truth in that
Do you mind explaining how the mechanics of this worked? I mean, what was it Labour did to get this mass migration, that would keep them in power for ever, and how come we have just had 14 years of Tory?
Blair opened up fully to the new EU Eastern European countries, which I think was a mistake at that time, but I don't see how that works as a weapon against Tories?

Yes, I have every confidence they will go for everyone equally.
I hope so because her sentence should be a lot longer than most because what she is calling for could've killed hundred of people. If they are giving long sentences for right-wing stickers and racism insults then they need to go a much further with what she's called for.

Corbyn, Bob Crow etc were against freedom of movement and other key aspects of the EU. Claiming it led to a race to the bottom in wages.

socialist have a more nuanced issue around access to labour. i've not heard of a anti-immigration union, though some want controlled access to "their" industry or jobs, as they dont like the consequence from increased labour force.

I don't recall such suspicions when Jo Cox was murdered. The inflammatory language of Farage and other loons may well have contributed and many had worries it may have been more than a lone mentalist but I didn't see any of the left take to violence.

Absolutely.

I guess the main difference was that they campaigned against increasing immigration and didn't riot, try to burn Mosques down and set fire to Asylum seekers, or encourage others to do so. Now you've made me defend Corbyn and Bob Crow etc

The first racist banged up got 2 months. TWO MONTHS! Yeah, that's going to act as a deterrent. The police and Starmer must be doing their nuts at the weak judiciary.

(It's all over the media but I'm not giving him publicity by linking here. It's simple to find)

Oh really? I thought that they'd probably check to see if the arrested person drove a Tesla, read a broadsheet and shopped at Waitrose and, if they did, let them off with a pat on the head and a special handshake.
