Thanks! yeah track cycling should be prosperous hopefully

As an aside, it intrigues me that Germany and Spain are always relatively poor at the Olympics (especially Spain!) What gives? You'd think they'd be right up there - especially Germany
They were brilliant as east Germany when all their female athletes were so pumped full of drugs they grew beards….of course you can’t say that know as JK has found out, but it was pretty rife then

Weird 800m by Reekie. She’s been bang on form but when she hit the final 60m she just seemed to have nothing left in her legs. Really disappointed for her.

I think she got a little caught up in it all and ran a little too freely.
She'll bounce back.

It's all to do with investment. It's no surprise the Team GB did a Manchester City once the National Lottery came around.. It was believed that in 2012 each UK medal cost £4.5m in funding from UK sport.

Other than Hodkinson, do we have any medal hopes in the Athletics?
Josh Kerr is pretty much a cert for a medal of some sorts.

He's beaten Ingebrigtsen before, he can beat him again.

I think that 7/4 SPOTY is as solid a bet as you will get for Keeley. Will win barring a disaster, likeable and missed every branch on the ugly tree (which, whether you like it or not will play a part in the voting). Granted, it won't "pay for Christmas" but I think she's nailed on.

Hodgkinson just looked so calm and composed in that SF.

The Kerr v Ingebritsen rivalry is a bit of fun, both quite similar in personality and it adds a bit of spice. Think he's from Northern Scotland, certainly had that lilt to his accent.

The subject of the latest BBC bigging up?
Ok, ok... :)

Other than Kerr, Matt Hudson-Smith has a really strong chance of a medal, quite possibly gold.

Silver in last years World Champs, 2 time European 400m champion, GB and European record holder.

Navigated his heat easily today. SF on Tuesday, Final on Wednesday.
