Very odd that no group has come forward to claim responsibility for it all. Not much of a protest if you don't declare what you are protesting against.
Definitely makes it more likely it was the Russians. Perhaps some Russian tourists got cold and started lighting fires on the train tracks. Or were they looking for Salisbury cathedral?

At the beginning of the Euros, one of the 5Live presenters was talking to a local journalist about how he was looking forward to travelling around the country on the train.

The journalist told him he was in for a shock as, contrary to the cliched view of German efficiency, German trains are shocking.

By the end of the Euros, the whole 5Live team were fed up with German trains, their frequent lengthy delays and cancellations.

TL;DR - it seems the Germans didn't need sabotage to f*** their trains up.
I have heard that in several places too. German trains are an absolute mess, apparently.

Pre-sabotaged trains….a new form of German efficiency ?

They seem okay to me. There were a few comments made during the Euros... mainly from the supporters of losing and badly performing teams. Make of that what you want!

I've read stories about Germans complaining that the trains are a bit crap well before the Euros. And to be clear, with my reading habits it's not like I'll have read that in the Daily Mail or something.

To be fair, for comparison my personal experience of local trains in France is that there's a 50% chance of severe delay or cancellation.
