They deserved it. Now playing the victims but this is a fair consequence of breaking a police officers nose and going for guns at an airport . DO NOT DO IT

The fall out from it is just an excuse for the campaigns to start up IMO

Things will soon move on
What did they do to deserve it?

Presumably whoever uploaded the footage. Selective editing is extremely common in creating a narrative; a person trying to create a sympathetic narrative is going to limit a 5 minute video down to 10 seconds, if it shows the belligerents in the most negative possible light.
Exactly, we are not being shown the positives from stamping on someone’s head.

We aren’t seeing context for the whole situation, which is what is needed to have an understanding of the situation which led to the police officer kicking the individual in the head. It’s really not that complicated.

Compared to using the car parks at Stansted airport, the process at Manchester looks marginally less painful.

Exactly, perhaps the police should release footage from their bodycams of an officer kicking a member of the public and then stamping on his head for balance. I’m with you on this.

I'm not sure, the policeman kicks and stamps on a person's head, whilst they're not moving and laying on the ground.

Does the context significantly mitigate how serious that is?

I don't think it will do, but maybe when we know the full story, if we ever do...

I’m sure footage will be released in due course, and will be made available to parties involved and probably eventually a jury during discovery, should the case go to court. In the mean time, it is the responsible thing to remain calm, let the fact finding occur, and follow the judicial process.

We don’t know the full details, but I’ve agreed that the footage is damning. This is why the officer has been immediately suspended and investigations are underway as to the whole incident. Getting outraged on an internet forum and trying to stir up social division doesn’t help anyone.

There is no context that makes it acceptable.

Surely the best thing to do is for Manchester police to stamp on the head of a white person at the airport and then…problem solved, no more racist accusations.
You need to try and stay calm and lucid. I appreciate you’re upset, but saying silly hyperbolic things is really not going to help anyone.

I’m not suggesting there is with the specific incident shown in the video, what I am saying is that we’re seeing extremists from all sides jump into this with hyperbole and extreme talk, which simply heightens tensions and opens the door to tolerance of extremist viewpoints from all sides. You want specifics of this? Extremists within Muslim communities and far right white nationalist groups to name just two,

You break a policewoman's nose - you're going to get it back deservedly so.

I'm not condoning the kick to the head - way out of order IMO - but let's not pretend their are any innocent parties here.
Correct me if I am wrong here. I thought we were a country with a criminal justice system where someone who breaks a police officer’s nose would be arrested and face the consequences if they were proven guilty in court. Maybe I missed the bit where the police became the all powerful who get to decide what counts as justice and can dish it out as they see fit.

As others have said. Should be interesting hearing views next time Tommy and his thugs start a row with coppers.

This.

Reaction of the OB way over the top - but trouble not instigated by them.
Have you ever heard the saying “anything you say before the word but is bullshit” - this means people say something at the beginning they don’t mean so they can justify something else.

Either that or the English language, just like with opinions, isn’t black and white and requires people to understand nuance. But you already know that.

Wasn't there also a video of police pepper spraying a bystander who happened to be there who then started to film the incident. The police seemed to miss the fu*k off bit and straight to more rigorous methods.
