Chelsea would be entitled to money from the sell on clause that we received as well, it doesn't just stop once we've sold him as it's still money coming in for that player.

So in this scenario Chelsea would initially get £1.5m from the initial sale, then £4.2m from the profits of our sell on fee coming to fruition.

I agree with most of what you’ve said, but the issue with Gilmour is that I’m still not convinced the defensive side of his game - ground duels, aerial duels, physicality, pressing, ability to eat up ground - will be enough to take him to the next level. As it stands, he still needs a physical monster next to him to be at his best, and also needs to be deployed in a very specific system which utilises a deep lying playmaker.

Unless he can improve upon those defensive aspects (which will be hard given his physical profile), or start proving that he can contribute higher up the pitch when given licence to get forward, it does feel like he is someone that Hurzeler would let go.

They haven't said that at all - they stood in the way of Lewis Dunk wanting to move (at that time). They stood in the way of Elliott Bennett wanting to move on (at that moment in time). They stood in the way of Dale Stephens wanting to move on (at that moment in time). They stood in the way of Moises Caicedo wanting to move on (at that moment in time).

What they HAVE stated is that they are willing to let individuals move on when it suits all parties involved.

Just seen the report on the BBC website - seriously (even with blue and white spectacles) £8M has got to be a joke, surely? That's a P1ss off and put the phone down response required, isn't it? OK, we have refused it, but as robustly as we should have? Worrying.

Hard to see TB agreeing to a modest fee by Albion standards.

I’m relishing the prospect of Neo Long Ball but I understood Hurzeler ball to be no-midfield overloads. Like the polo ten hag formation.

Would be interested to seeing us get it launched with a clear plan.
