[Football] Leicester lose appeal against Premier League PSR charge

Leicester's appeal against the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability charge has been rejected by an independent commission.

The commission has ruled the top flight can punish the Foxes for an alleged breach for the three seasons leading up to 2022-23 after they were charged in March.

Leicester appealed against the charge as they were in the English Football League (EFL) at the time it was issued and felt the Premier League had no jurisdiction, having been relegated in 2023, but the commission has ruled English football's top flight can continue pursuing them.

Leicester are appealing against the latest ruling.

Clubs should also get extra points deducted if their appeals are unsuccessful.

So 3 seasons @ 10 points = relegated by Christmas and a whole season of "its not fair tears and banners"

Meanwhile Man City continue spend millions on lawyers until hell freezes over and Chelsea cheat there way out of it

They are still cheats and in all three cases in the PL because of cheating, serves them right IMO

A reminder that Manchester City's case is extremely different to Leicester's and City will get punished when the true course of justice is able to play out. Manchester City's case is for 115 charges and it is extremely complex and that is why it is taking longer than these pretty straightforward, spending too much, cases that we're seeing from Leicester, Everton and Forest.

Leicester also deserve to get punished for the record. They broke the rules whilst in the Premier League, and they're trying to argue that they couldn't be punished by the Premier League last season as they weren't in the Premier League at the time. It's pathetic.

Leicester were one of the reasons FFP came into force, building their new stadium, and re-branding the club so didn’t pay for it.

Did Forest fight the charges? I know they argued they sold a player shortly after the cutoff point that would have made them compliant but if they had done so they would have received less money. It seemed like a valid point to raise, the June 30th deadline does seem weird in the context of FFP.
