and a Sunday night.
Spending the weekend with Mrs CJ along the way for a little break and wondered if anyone had any recommendations.
Indian ? , Fish and Chips ? , or Roast Dinners ? perhaps but if there's also a local well reviewed small restaurant getting decent reviews then interested in that too.

Going to spend most of my time in the rather good cinemas and walking up and down the prom i expect. (and watching England beat Switzerland of course).

Yes @chaileyjem the Kino theatre cinema is a splendid building which also has a restaurant cafe.
You could always visit Heist for drinks and its atmosphere, recommend also as the St Leonards Bar round corner.
My choice would be the Gurkha Chef on seafront for Nepalese curry. Very reasonable and family run with exquisite service.
All are within a stones throw.

If you've not taken a walk down St Leon. Kings Road in a while or the neighbourhood for that matter, you’ll be surprised at its vibe and buzz of a weekend.
Generally a nice crowd and some 'fancy' establishments springing up all over, with prices to match!

Bayte opened recently and gets good reviews. Sure you'll have an interesting and enjoyable 'french connection' weekend.

Not been to either recently but the Crown is a great pub with excellent food every time I've been and I had lovely and very reasonable meal at Undercliffe House, very good fish

And I've heard it was rough previously but The Seadog by the station does very good beer and food looked pretty decent
