I’m going to see The Breeders on the 4th but I’ll be back home around 10:30-11:00 pm UK time. What time does the exit poll get announced? I recall last time is was projected onto a building but can’t remember the time.

I have three bottles of champagne in the fridge ready for when I get home. Will add some beers and Negroni and martini ingredients as well. Need to work on the snacks next.

Friday booked off, hoping for a Portillo moment the same as 97, Suella would be the dream but any of the current cabinet would be delicious.
I'll resist the temptation to drink too much to avoid nodding off but an exit poll tipple and then something to celebrate in the early hours seems appropriate.
Snack wise, any advice? Cold meats, dips and crisps/nachos is current thinking.

Quite fancy the C4 coverage, on the off chance it might be more "informal" and i find Laura K a bit grating, any preferences? Assume Sky would be awful

I went to the Dome for at least one of the elections in 1974. It was a brilliant partisan atmosphere with the National Front in attendance. Plus ca change. We saw the local results come in so it must have been late. They had big screens showing National results coming in - so series of cheers/boos all night.

I’ll try and stay up. There’s a few I’d love to see booted out, but some have already quit to spoil the fun (I’m looking at you Gove you runt).

I've got the Virgin man coming to repair my box on Thursday. Which is good. I'll be able to rewind multiple times if Liz loses her seat.

I'm planning on mixing between C4 and Sky, would be BBC but similar to you, find the presenters and journos grating.

Think Sky should be good with Sophy Ridge and Trevor Phillips, plus their number cruncher is someone called Professor Thrasher, which sounds good.

I'm reviewing my strategy.
Normally I would stick the telly and the kettle on at 10 and watch through to about 6, then kip till about lunchtime.
This year, however, it's my son's wedding on Saturday and I'm gonna be expected to shuffle stuff about (dunno what) and help get stuff ready (dunno what).
My choices, as I see them are :
1. stick with the all nighter but have less kip friday ?
2. go to bed about 4, potentially missing some big hits ?
3. go to be about 9, get up at 2, watch till 7ish and have another kip prior to being bossed and moaned at ?
4. something else ?
What should I do ?

I got married on election day in 1997 (voting in Brighton Pavilion that afternoon), which made it a different kind of night - though I did watch a bit of it. Our hotel filled up the next night with celebrating Labour Party workers. So in a sense every election day is a wedding anniversary.

I'd like to watch some of it this time, but I'll be working (from home) the next day. I'll watch the exit poll and maybe get up in the early hours to see some of it.
