During the Covid crisis I upgraded my knowledge about how vaccination and herd immunity works. Essentially vaccination makes the individual's immune system respond more quickly to infection. But if the virus or bacterium exposure is very high it could 'beat' the immune system in an individual.

Of course the more people in the population not vaccinated, the easier it is for the disease to spread in the population, increasing the exposure of the pathogen we all experience. Eventually if enough people fail to be vaccinated we reach a tipping point, and a pandemic may emerge.

Worryingly increasing numbers of kids are not getting routine vaccination. The problem is worst in London. This needs a serious up-step on education.

In addition, it concerns me that conscientious vaccinated folk run the risk of serious disease because ignorant and/or deluded parents are not getting their kids vaccinated. Perhaps we need laws to ensure that kids cannot attend state school if they are not vaccinated. Unfortunately the thickies will probably embrace home schooling. Much of this has been propagated by fake news websites and the arse who triggered the MMR/autism disaster.

I read a post recently where someone told me vaccinations don’t work. My replay was when did you last hear of someone dying of smallpox or diphtheria. My grandmother died of diphtheria in 1928, when my Dad was still a child.

That's all well and good HWT but Baz said on Facebook the other day that he'd done his own research and he said that vaccines are just the latest effort by THE ELITE (not the All Elite Wrestling VIPs, obvs) to control the population this time via Mind Control Microchips and 5G Brain Flaying.

He'd done research. Research.

Indeed. It is hard enough to tell actual researchers that they have cherry picked from the literature when creating their narrative so it is little wonder that, in the wider world, confirmation bias seems to be the principle method of decision making

"I've done my own research" is the best line of the last 10 years in my opinion 😂

Never has a line made someone feel so righteous while simultaneously having the effect of making them look like such a PRAT.

This. Just means they've looked up a couple of confirmation bias videos on youtube. Same as cryptobros do. It's all a bit f*cked-up really. And in both cases the victims are the families of the parent(s) in the tinfoil helmet

I have noticed that there is a growing consensus for a general conspiracy theory, of which anti vaccination is a component part.

funny thing about the batlander's theories on vaccines, recently come up with mind control, they've had the same general objection to vaccines but different claims for years. previously population control, keep us ill to create markets for big pharma, genetic manipulation or satanic worship.

what, all these things, if you do you own research? thats very clever, when do we start to see the results from 50-60 years of routine vaccination?

Don’t badmouth Baz, he’s a good friend of mine so is his wife, they BOTH know their stuff and I’m reliably informed its correct as I quote, they are BOTH “free thinkers” I've seen the Tik Tok videos, one of them had a number of views as a triple digit. They’ve got doctors and everything (just because they’ve been struck off doesn’t make them less of a doctor I’m sure) It’s a cover up I tell yer and we’re being brainwashed by the BBC…..an another thing, that cheap petrol you get in Asda? It’s designed to blow your engine up so you call out the RAC, but it’s on an app that Bill Gates has designed with that other bloke, Apollo Creed….

The biggest concern isn't those who are vaccinated as they have at least got some protection from the viruses.

The biggest concern is for those who are immuno-compromised enough already that they cannot get the vaccine. They rely on herd immunity working to not get a virus that they will more easily catch, and will have a more severe effect on them.

There are also those who cannot take vaccines because of allergies who will suffer.

It's why idiots who push anti-vax propaganda are so dangerous. I remember getting blocked by Leon Knight on twitter years ago because he posted stats for deaths from measles and polio and asked why there were so few deaths if it was so dangerous. The answer "Because of vaccines you f***ing idiot" was apparently not what he was looking for.

Also they don't actually know how to research. They look at one dodgy video/website and then take that as gospel vs actually looking at multiple sources and studies.

Baz has been generous enough to share his insight with that Nigel and nice Tice on climate change too. And it's not just Baz, there are hundreds of scientists that have broken free from all those other lot who just say what they do to keep their well-paid jobs indulging themselves in their idle lifestyles.

Agree, but what normally then happens when you ask for a link to their research they reply with 'do your own research'! Which is tantamount to saying they know you will find fault with their dodgy websites they trawl daily!!

The word ‘vaccines’ troubles me when used like this. Especially with ‘anti-vax’.

Because it makes it sound like they are all the same.

You can be unconvinced about certain vaccines while still being very pro others, surely?!

My kids are vaccinated against all the usual stuff, I’m very pro-vaccines. Was I going to give them the Covid vaccines that were a year old with no long-term data for a disease that didn’t really affect them? No f***ing chance.

Does that make me an anti-vaxxer?

This is an actual message from someone I’m in a group chat with. The shots being the Covid vaccination. MSM means mainstream media (I had to look it up). This is a guy whose life hasn’t gone so well in recent years after being made redundant. I get how he’s fallen into this stuff, a feeling of purpose and belonging. The question is how do I get him to rethink things. Calling him an idiot is likely to just make him double down.

“We were "forced" into taking the shots by MSM media, TV doctors on the Pharma payrolls, and led to believe they were 100% safe. Turns out cancer is now skyrocketing, people have got heart defects. You will be told you weren't "forced' into having them but we were by stealth. It was one big scam to see how easily the population could be controlled. Maybe it was a test for something bigger?”

yes, it was so obviously a test. let's see how closing down the economy would affect the population. oh, it's shit and causes lots of social, economic and political repercussions... and now people have less trust in governments and pharma. brilliant test. :dunce::facepalm:
