I thought he was referring to the anniversary not the number of years that the club has been in existence unless I’m missing something? (ie on my 18th Birthday, even though I have only been alive for 17 years, it’s still my 18th Birthday EDIT no it would be my 17th
)

Bit like a racehorse then, whose age goes up by a year every Jan 1st. So horses born in Jan have a big advantage in the early years because they are much more developed for a race restricted to a fixed age group (like the Derby)

My step dad’s grandfather, Tommy White, is in the team pic on the Albion’s website - the first known pic of us in the stripes.
