That's helpful thanks. That sounds about what i would like. I will have to give up TNT Sports. Do you know if they are still insisting that you have a land line (phone) as i just left mine unplugged for 18 months. Apparently it was part of the deal.

Good luck. We now don't have Sky! I rang them the day before our cancellation date, and suggested I would be interested in staying if the price wasn't so high a I'd been with them 15 years and was a VIP customer, and they said there were no offers at the moment and in fact I'd be paying a couple of pounds extra a month, when I was already paying £140!

I think they may have changed their retention strategy potentially.
I'm now Skyless. No offers, no calls, just return labels.

Keep it simple - Now TV gives you all of Sky Sports for £20/month. Every now and then I have to cancel to get the £20 offer price again, but it’s worth it. And no contract to worry about.

Amazon Fire Stick Users could face £50k fine

I've been with Virgin since Nynex days. Just did my usual 18 month negotiation withy them last month.

£62.29 for 1 gig BB, Sky Sports and TNT in HD/UHD, movies in HD, Netflix and phone.

Plus ability to record loads of stuff when I'm out or watching something else. Bargain.
That's the best price I've seen on this thread. Virgin destroys sky these days. I went from sky to virgin and was paying about 10 quid more than you for a similar package. I'm in the process of moving at the moment and virgin not available in new place have had to go back to sky which is a LOT more expensive. And TNT is a complete rip off on sky.

I've used sky and virgin recently and they are both about the same in terms of service so people on this thread don't be fooled into thinking sky are a lot better.

My only complaint about sky and virgin is the way they throttle broadband and the pesky EPL weekend blocks. I haven't bothered getting broadband with sky this time and have gone with a 1gb hyperpotic package, looking forward to not needing a VPN so much.

Just this week given Sky cancellation notice. Had FF Broadband, sky Sports, Netflix and Ent pack.
Was paying £76 had email saying going up to £110!. Phoned as was told nothing could be done as £110 was the very best offer available. Said to cancel and was put through to cancellations who suddenly offered £89. Said that still too much so cancelled. Service drops off on 17th July. Doubt if I will, but will be interesting to see if I get any please stay offers.

Binned Sky after 20 years for Virgin about a year ago (soon after fibre was installed in our road to give us a viable option). Half the price for the same services/channels, 15x faster or more and way more stable. Only downside to Virgin is if you need to speak to them. Their call centre is a disaster.

The online chat thing generally works okay and the community pages on the website can be helpful.

Took about 20 mins same package as now but £5 cheaper...all good for 18 months
Ok so iv'e had a chat Mine is £80 from £74 for the same (more or less) didn't realise i didn't have hd so got that now. i might still add TNT Sports for £18 told them i'm not paying the increase in April she said just call and the won't charge it. We shall see. Before i agreed she said call back just before it runs out so i said i'm giving notice to cancel next month, but tbh i just wanted to get it sorted. What the feck am i supposed to do with 210 channels i don't want  :D

Got fed up when my monthly bill was hiked again so for the first time since 1992 I don’t subscribe to Sky Sports. It’ll be odd not watching PL football and F1 live on the telly but I think I’ll get over it, We go to enough live games, BHA, Worthing and Steyning to satiate the appetite, and F1 doesn’t hold my attention like it used to. I will miss the excellent UHD broadcasts of the golf but with the deal I did on the phone I’m saving £30 odd a month over what they had increased it to. Shame that Sky has become so expensive, but I’m sure they know their market.

Sky charge £28 a month for TNT. On Virgin it's £18 that's a big difference.

if this thread is a small microcosm of UK society, then SKY and then by default the EPL, are soon going to have a problem making the accounts add up as they seem to have run out of wiggle room to increase revenue by continually raising prices and retaining customers ...
