Onfield decision was offside.
VAR is not over-ruling it because it is not a clear and obvious error by the onfield officials.
Nonsense decision though because the keeper is not getting down for that second save whether there’s a player there or not.

I can see why it's been ruled out, certainly not a howler and the toughest call so far for VAR

As a goalkeeper, Looking at the body language, that goalkeeper isn't diving even without a player next to him, he doesn't start low enough. He was caught out

I disagree, it happend so fast, French keeper wouldn't have been able to react any differently, at least imo!
Did he? I assumed he got the signal from the semi-automated system. Offside wasn't the issue - it was a subjective call on whether the offside player made an impact. Wasn't in the keeper's line of sight and didn't attempt to play the ball.

In fairness, the one person I don't think you can blame there is Anthony Taylor.
His assistant (not sure which one it was, but they're both English) made the on-field call and then Attwell agreed with it from behind the monitor.
I'm slightly suprised that, as a subjective offside, Taylor wasn't called to the screen to make a final decision.

Sorry, but that's always offside (except in our game at Villa last season naturally). He is very much interfering, I agree that the keeper wouldn't have got there but with the current interpretation I think they've got that right

It wasn't the VAR that disallowed it, it was the lino who flagged. At that point VAR have just confirmed he is offside and standing next to the keeper. Probably the right decision despite the fact I doubt the keeper would have saved it.
I think if it was a goal scored against Brighton we would all be screaming blue murder about offside and interference.

Neville (if it's him?) said that they were scratching around looking for a way to rule it out. Which neatly sums up our approach with VAR as opposed to everywhere else.
